Höstens ansökningsomgång - Wenner-Gren Stiftelserna (WGS)
Ansökningssystem öppnat för höstens ansökningsomgång för några av WGS stipendier och anslag. Det gäller WGS:s program "utländska postdoktorsstipendier för utbildning i Sverige", "gästforskarstipendier", "sabbatsstipendier", "resestipendier" (för konferensresor och kurser), "externa symposier" (för anordnande av symposier/konferenser i Sverige) och "Inge Jonssons fond" (där stiftelserna utlyser stipendier om 50.000 kr för yngre disputerade forskare inom humaniora).

Stipendier - Svensk Förening för Bröstradiologi, under Svensk Förening för Medicinsk Radiologi
Förening inbjuder ansökningar om stipendier för bröstradiologi. Dessa stöder forskning och arbete med förbättringsprojekt med bröstradiologiskt fokus. Nominerade ska vara medlemmar i föreningen.

Planeringsbidrag och stipendier - Folke Bernadotte Stiftelsen
Stiftelsen tilldelar ekonomiska bidrag i form av stipendier för såväl planering som genomförande av forsknings- och utvecklingsprojekt inom stiftelsens verksamhetsområde. Stiftelsens ändamål är att främja vård och fostran av barn och ungdom med cerebral pares och andra rörelsehinder. Planeringsbidraget är avsett att ge förutsättningar för att arbeta fram en ansökan till ett forsknings- eller utvecklingsprojekt. I ansökan ska avsedda forsknings- och projektfinansiärer anges, samt tidsplan för när ansökningarna ska skickas in. Planeringsbidrag respektive bidrag till genomförande av forsknings- eller utvecklingsprojekt lämnas för högst 3 månader till en summa om högst 25 000 kronor/månad.

Forskningsanslag - Stiftelsen Lars Hiertas Minne
Stiftelsen inbjuder ansökningar om bidrag till enskilda forskare. Dessa stöder forskningsprojekt inom alla ämnesområden. Anslag uppgår till mellan SEK 20,000 och SEK 40,000 var. Ansökningar över 50 000 kronor beaktas ej. Bidrag täcker omkostnader för projektets genomförande.

Ansökningsomgången för höstutlysningen är öppen för följande ansökningskategorier:
- Resa - Anslag för resa för person verksam inom forskningsprojekt med stöd av Cancerfonden
- Kongress - Anslag för att anordna kongresser och/eller symposier i Sverige som är av intresse för cancerforskningen.
- Postdoktortjänst- Att gagna cancerforskning genom att rekrytera framgångsrika, yngre forskare till området
- Junior Investigator Award - Syftet är att rekrytera disputerade forskare som vill etablera självständig forskning.
- Senior Investigator Award - Bredda etablerade och väl kvalificerade cancerforskare som inte har en sluttjänst inom universitetsorganisation.
- Junior/Senior Clinical Investigator Award - Bredda kliniskt verksamma, disputerade cancerforskare, såväl etablerade som yngre.
- Forskarskola - Möjliggöra drift av Forskarskola som är riktad till doktorander med projekt inom ämnesområdet cancer.
- Forskarmånader - För forskare med klinisk tjänstgöring inom medicinsk, vård-, samhälls- och beteendevetenskaplig verksamhet.
- Fellowship inom vårdvetenskap - För att främja cancerforskning inom området vårdvetenskaplig forskning.

Forskningsprojekt och stipendier - Blodcancerfonden
Pengar från Blodcancerfonden kan sökas av personal verksam vid hematologiska kliniker. Stödet ska enligt Blodcancerfondens stadgar användas för utbildning och utvecklingsarbete som direkt syftar till förbättring av vårdens kvalitet och patienternas livskvalitet, och kliniskt inriktad forskning som kan förmodas leda till konkreta effekter på våra medlemmars situation kommer att prioriteras.

Forskningsanslag - Stiftelsen Lantsbrukforskining
Utlysning ”Animalieproduktion 2.0 - Forskning för animalieproduktionens ökade konkurrenskraft, hållbarhet och resiliens” omfattar aspekter för hur framtidens animalieproduktion kan bli mer konkurrenskraftig och ekonomiskt och miljömässigt hållbar, samt mer resilient ur ett brett perspektiv. Det innefattar utvecklingsprojekt för registrering och utvärdering av storskaliga multidisciplinära data, ur produktions, hälso- och smittskyddsperspektiv. Även projekt rörande rekommenderad för förebyggande och hantering av stora utbrott av smittor kan omfattas, för en ökad resiliens och mer stabil inhemsk livsmedelsförsörjning.

Research Initiation Grants for Data-Driven Life Sciences and Society - The SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS)
This call aims to provide funding for research investigating the human and social challenges of data-driven strategies developed and applied within the life sciences. The research should aim to increase the understanding of how using artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous systems, and data-driven methodologies has effects and consequences in the life sciences, medicine, and/or society. The research should be of a visionary nature and have a clear impact both for the data driven life sciences and the humanities and/or social sciences. Impact here can mean for example scientific impact, but also industrial or societal impact. The call also aims to promote collaborations between researchers from the data-driven life sciences and the social sciences and humanities. The call is open to researchers working in the life sciences, social sciences, and humanities, broadly construed. In the life sciences, the research must be related to data-driven approaches in molecular biology, evolution and biodiversity, prediction medicine, or epidemiology or biology of infection, i.e. is focused on interdisciplinary research projects relevant to both DDLS and WASP-HS. In the social sciences and humanities, research areas include, but are not limited to, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, political science, law, history, linguistics, languages, the creative arts, and theology. Examples of research topics include the study of ethical, legal, organizational, epistemic, economical, and cultural challenges as well as other possible topics outside of those listed. Applicants: One or two PIs. Contribution period: two years with, possibly, a two-year extension (evaluated in competition). Grant amount: Maximum 2 MSEK/year.

Research Grant Dentistry - The Nakao Foundation for Worldwide Oral Health
The Nakao Foundation for Worldwide Oral Health invites applications for its grants. These supports basic research, clinical research and educational programme in oral health contributing to a healthy and long-living society and to a high quality of life. Projects should fall into one of the following topics:
•minimum intervention dentistry;
•oral health for ageing population;
•oral functions;
•oral frailty;
•oral health literacy.
The call will fund up to six applications, of up to 50,000 CHF each per year for up to two years.
The Foundation Nakao Grant application 2024 will open on September 2nd.

Visiting Fellowships to Zukunftskolleg, University of Konstanz
The Zukunftskolleg offer research stays of up to 4 months to international early career researchers who are visiting the departments at the University of Konstanz and who are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and the inspirational mind-set of the Zukunftskolleg during their on-site time in Konstanz. The Zukunftskolleg is open to host up to 5 Visiting Fellows per semester during the lecture period (mid Oct – mid Feb or mid April – mid July)

Eligibility of potential candidates
- early career researchers (max. 7 years after PhD) employed by an institution outside Germany;
- Visiting the University of Konstanz after a competitive selection process and being funded by external sources (e.g. DAAD, home institution, foundations, …);

Max Planck Research Groups - Open topic call 2024 MPRG Leader positions
The Max Planck Society is continuing to offer talented young scientists the opportunity to lead their own independent Max Planck Research Group (MPRG) at a participating Max Planck Institute of their choice.
All scientists who hold a doctoral degree are eligible to apply. There are multiple positions available.
The funding package includes a German W2 position (equivalent to an assistant or untenured associate professorship), additional resources for the hiring of scientific staff and a budget to realize the project. The total allocation for a Max Planck Research Group is competitive with other top international career development programmes and amounts to up to 2 million euros for the initial six years.
Eligibility
The position of MPRG Leader is particularly suitable for outstanding emerging scholars who have already held one or two postdoctoral positions and who would now like to head an independent research group and develop their own research ideas. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional academic credentials as well as promise as leaders, mentors, and collaborators. Please note that only scientists who hold a doctorate are eligible to apply. If the recommended academic age is exceeded, applicants should provide a detailed statement regarding their suitability. Only applications and letters of recommendation written in English are accepted. Activity location is Germany.

Abstract: The FY24 ATRP challenges the scientific community to address the most significant gaps in the care and well-being of Service Members and all persons impacted by arthritis. As mandated by Congress, the ATRP will support high-impact research on any types of arthritis, including but not limited to osteoarthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, inflammatory arthritis, juvenile arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Abstract: The RTRP challenges the scientific community to design innovative research that will advance science and standardized clinical practice of vascularized composite allotransplantation (VCA) to improve access, safety, and quality of life for catastrophically injured Service Members, Veterans, and American public. VCA refers to the transplantation of multiple tissues such as muscle, bone, nerve, and skin as a functional unit (e.g., a hand or face) from a deceased donor to a recipient with a severe injury. Eligibility: An applicant must be a doctor (MD or PhD), medical technologist, transfusion medicine or biotherapies professional. An early-career investigator is an investigator who has completed a terminal research degree or medical residency – whichever date is later – within the past 10 years of the grant application deadline and has not yet been awarded a substantial research grant (i.e. NIH R01).
Abstract: The AABB Foundation awards grants for investigator-initiated original research in all aspects of blood banking, transfusion medicine and biotherapies. Research content areas eligible for the grant program include the following: Immunology, Hematology, Immunohematology, Infectious Diseases, Biotherapies, and/or Patient Blood Management. Applications for research into innovative and new projects are a priority.

International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), US – John J Bonica trainee fellowship

Amount: Up to $100,000 over 2 years. Indirect costs are not covered by this grant.
Eligibility: The selected applicant must provide a proof of PhD completion (or equivalent) prior to initiation of the fellowship. The trainee will generally be in an early stage of his or her career. Trainees must be IASP members at the time of applying. Mentors must be IASP members for at least one year at the time of applying. The mentor must not have served as a mentor for a John J. Bonica Fellowship trainee within the last three years.
Abstract: The John J. Bonica Trainee Fellowship was established in 1998 in memory of the founder of IASP to support training in all aspects of pain research. This supports a trainee to pursue either clinical research or basic science research under the guidance of a mentor at the institution of his or her choice.
