Ny studie om kranskärlsoperation hos unga vuxna

Magnus Dalén och Ulrik Sartipy, forskare i gruppen Thoraxkirurgi, intervjuas i OpenHeart, tidskriften Circulations officiella blogg.

De berättar i intervjun om studien "Coronary artery bypass grafting in patients 50 years or younger: a Swedish nationwide cohort study" som nyligen publicerades i Circulation, American Heart Association journal.

"Our results contradict the previous assumption that coronary artery disease in young adults carries a poor long-term prognosis. The rate of repeat revascularization was low in our study which emphasizes the long-term durability of surgical revascularization in young patients", says Drs. Dalen and Sartipy
