The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) works tirelessly to accelerate promising research toward breakthroughs for people with Parkinson's. MJFF funding programs support basic, translational and clinical research from academia and industry. In addition to funding, awardees benefit from working with MJFF internal research staff and broad network of scientific and industry advisors.

  • ASAP Collaborative Research Network


The ASAP Collaborative Research Network, a program of the Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) initiative being implemented through The Michael J. Fox Foundation, seeks to support international, multidisciplinary, multi-institutional research teams to address key knowledge gaps in the basic disease mechanisms that contribute to Parkinson’s development and progression.

Award Amount: Up to $9 million

Due Date: Pre-proposals Due: January 8, 2020

  • Ken Griffin Alpha-synuclein Imaging Competition


The Michael J. Fox Foundation has prioritized alpha-synuclein imaging as the most likely imaging approach to have an impact for therapeutic development. The goal of this $10-million funding program is to deliver a selective alpha-synuclein PET tracer for use in clinical studies.

Award Amount: Up to $8.5 million

Due Date: January 17, 2020

Success story sharing will be presented by Dr. Andrea Varrone, who has successfully received the grants from MJFF from various grant mechanisms.
