Professor Eleonora Candi kommer att berätta om sin forskning om p63 i hudutveckling och deras senaste rön om hur extracellulärt serin stärker epidermal proliferation och psoriasisliknande symtom.

Föreläsare:

Eleonora Candi
Professor in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

Värd:

Ning Xu Landén
Associate professor at Karolinska Institutet, Department of Medicine Solna, Division of Dermatology and Venerology, Center for Molecular Medicine.

Eleonora Candi received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry of the Epithelia in 1995 (Rome, Italy). Thereafter, she did her post-doctoral training at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, MD, USA, working on transglutaminases and their substrates. In 2017, she became a Full Professor in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. She is an editorial board member of Cell Death & Disease and The FEBS Journal. She has been working on cell death, both apoptosis and keratinization in the past years. Her current scientific interest includes the role of p63 in epithelia development and tumor formation, epigenetic modifications, miRNAs, and lncRNAs.
