Karolinska lnstitutet and Mayo Clinic are proud to present the first workshop of the Cross-Atlantic Twin Talks, a series of events designed to improve your teaching skills! Together with two prominent experts we will dive into online learning and strategies for course design, communication and collaboration.
Robin O'Callaghan, Instructional Designer. She creates instructor-led and self-directed training modules for Amazon. She co-developed WeTeach, a program to design high quality online/blended courses and has more than 15 years of teaching experience in social media, video production, and broadcasting.
Mary O'Brien, Instructional Design Specialist. She supports the development of online programs at Winona State University using WeTeach. She plays an active role in the Minnesota Online Quality Initiative and has presented Internationally for organizations such as Quality Matters, D2L Brightspace, and the MN State College and University System.
- Participants will be introduced to the basic principles of course design, including alignment of learning objectives, instructional materials, and assessments.
- Participants will learn strategies for course structure and mapping.
- Strategies and best practices for online communication and collaboration, including a review of commonly-available tools as well as how to build instructor presence.
