3D deep tissue imaging of the right ventricle reveals complex remodeling of the microvasculature in right heart failure
Speaker: Dr Kenzo Ichimura, Stanford University, USA
Dr Ichimura is a cardiologist with an MD since 2008 and PhD from 2018 from Kyushu University, Japan and is currently performing a postdoctoral fellowship in Professor Edda Spiekerkoetter’s lab at Stanford University, School of Medicine where he is exploring the role of microvasculature remodeling in right heart failure using novel three-dimensional microscopic imaging and quantification, animal models and human material with a focus on the role of Bone Morphogenetic Protein Receptor 2 (BMPR2) in right ventricular fibrosis and pharmacological targeting of the BMPR2 pathway.
