Challenges in working life 2023 – Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (Forte)
Supports the build-up of new or strengthening and development of existing research environments of a certain size, to help meet challenges in working life by developing and disseminating knowledge. Grants are worth up to a maximum of SEK 24 million for the whole programme period 1 July 2023–30 June 2029.

Forskningsanslag och postdoktoralt-stipendium – Dr P Håkanssons Stiftelse
Stöder unga forskare vid svenska universitet som utmärker sig inom områdena fysiologi, medicinsk kemi och livsmedelskemi (functional food). Forskningsstöd ges till disputerade forskare i tidig karriär som enligt Stiftelsens regler måste vara verksamma med inriktning mot livsmedel och hälsa. I förekommande fall kan stödet helt eller delvis ges som postdoktoralt utbildningsstipendium med bidrag till kostnader för värdinstitutionen. Etablerade forskare (exempelvis innehavare av tjänster som professor, universitetslektor, forskare vid vetenskapligt råd) prioriteras inte i jämförelse med icke-etablerade forskare.
Forskningsstöden ges företrädesvis till forskare, som redovisar forskningsprojekt som bedöms vara av betydelse för de stora folksjukdomarna. Högst prioritet ges för projekt inom områden där kosten/födan är av betydelse för prevention och/eller behandling. Avgränsade projekt, för vilkas genomförande erhållandet av forskningsstöden är av stor betydelse, ges särskild prioritet.

The Champalimaud Foundation invites nominations for the António Champalimaud vision award. This recognises contributions to blindness relief and vision problems in developing regions.

Award - Hans Anderl award, European Association of Plastic Surgeons, EUR
The European Association of Plastic Surgeons invites applications for the Hans Anderl award. This promotes excellence in the field of plastic surgery in Europe and recognises achievements in the field of plastic-reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
Candidates must be active members of EURAPS, or must have presented at least one paper at a EURAPS meeting and be sponsored by two EURAPS members, one from their own country and one from another country. The submitted paper must have be published in the five years prior to the year of the upcoming EURAPS meeting. Applicants must be 50 years of age or under.
The prize is worth approximately €4,000.

WJB Houston memorial research scholarship - European Orthodontic Society, EUR
The European Orthodontic Society invites applications for the WJB Houston memorial research scholarship. This enables junior researchers in visiting a research department.
The scholarship is worth up to £30,000 per year for up to three years. Funding may cover materials, accommodation, travel and living expenses, salaries of laboratory assistants or technicians, and support staff.

The European Orthodontic Society invites applications for its research grants. These support research projects with relevance to orthodontics. Applicants may focus on a specific project that can be addressed in terms of a hypothesis, and two or three specific aims.
Applicants must have been members of the society for at least two consecutive years.
Grants are worth up to £30,000 each, and may cover costs for materials, accommodation, travel and living expenses, as well as salaries of laboratory assistants, technicians and support staff.

Harasawa fellowship - Japanese Respiratory Society, JP
The Japanese Respiratory Society invites applications for the Harasawa fellowship. This aims to foster young researchers and specialised respiratory clinicians from countries other than Japan who wish to train in respiratory medicine in Japan.
In principle, applications are accepted from young investigators of countries represented by the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology and the Latin American Thoracic Society, but applicants from other countries will also be considered. Applicants must be under 40 years of age, be non-Japanese nationals residing outside Japan and have been accepted to a training institute in Japan. Applications must be submitted in English.
Two grants, worth JPY 1.5 million each, are available. The period of stay must be at least three months.

Social Drivers of Mental Illnesses in Low- & Middle-Income Countries: Mechanisms and Pathways of Interventions for Youth (R01 Clinical Trial Optional): NIH
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit research that will help to identify and explain the mechanisms by which (i) interventions targeting social drivers of mental illnesses affect the mental health and functioning and (ii) interventions preventing, detecting and treating mental illnesses affect the functioning (expressed as social outcomes) of children and/or adolescents (ages 5-24 years) living in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Studies should use innovative approaches to capture as much real-world complexity as possible in identifying and elucidating mechanisms that capture the bidirectional nature between social drivers and outcomes and mental health in children and/or adolescents. NIMH is supportive of projects that help build sustainable research capacity in LMICs and welcomes applications from researchers in LMICs. Applicants from scientists in the United States or Upper Middle-Income Countries are strongly encouraged to collaborate with LMIC partners.

New Postdoctoral Fellowship in Immuno-Informatics, Cancer Research Institute (CRI), US
This new track in CRI's longstanding Postdoctoral Fellowship Program will support and train data scientists working on immuno-oncology research and immunologists incorporating big datasets into their research.
CRI is seeking hypothesis-driven projects in basic or translational cancer immunology or immunology. Applicants should demonstrate the potential of the proposed study to directly impact our understanding of the immune system's role in cancer by leveraging the use of innovative technologies and/or computational methods including high throughput "omic" methods and data analyses.
The applicant should also address any new skills expected to be gained in immunology and/or computational biology including theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Funding: $186,000 over three years.

Accelerating Functional Recovery of Multiple Sclerosis Grant, National MS Society, US
This concept supports innovative and collaborative studies that accelerate the acquisition of mechanistic knowledge and application of this knowledge to improve functional recovery for people with MS. This will be accomplished through a multi-year research grant-style mechanism, offering up to 3 years of funding for up to $660,000 (direct costs).
