Challenges in Working Life 2025 – Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (FORTE)
This call provides funding for individual research projects. The project applications must contribute to the Forte’s agenda’s challenge number 3: To achieve a health-promoting working life, and target one or more of the following strategies: (i) Creating opportunities for people to be able to work for their entire professional career; (ii) Reducing the occurrence of intimidation, violence and harassment in the workplace; (iii) Decreasing the level of damaging physical burdens and chemical exposure in the working environment; (iv) Reducing psychosocial risks in the working environment; (v) Ensuring the effective implementation of knowledge about the working environment.
Project duration: 3 years. Funding amounts: a maximum of SEK 5 million for three-year projects.

Resebidrag – Sigbrith Björkelunds Stiftelse
Resebidrag delas ut till kvinnliga forskare vid Karolinska Institutet eller Uppsala Universitet verksamma inom områdena neurologi, psykiatri eller hjärt-kärlsjukdomar. Bidrag avser i första hand att finansiera kostnader i samband med vistelse vid forskningsinstitution utanför Sverige, bidrag som på annat sätt stödjer mottagarens forskningsarbete kan även komma i fråga. Mottagare ska ha avlagt läkarexamen och antingen befinna sig i senare delen av utbildningen på forskarnivå eller ha avlagt doktorsexamen under de fem senaste åren.

Stiftelsen inbjuder ansökningar om postdoktorandstöd för forsknings- och utvecklingsprojekt kring barn, ungdomar och vuxna med utvecklingsstörning. Forskning som syftar till att förbättra levnadsförhållanden och delaktighet för barn, ungdomar och vuxna med utvecklingsstörning, prioriteras. Postdoktorandstöd utgår för ett år i taget och maximalt för tre år. Postdoktorandstödet täckar lön, socialförsäkringsavgifter (LKP) samt overheadkostnader från universitet/högskola.

Sustainable health and social care systems for elderly - NordForsk
The overall aim of the call is to fund research which generates knowledge and evidence-based solutions in the area of sustainable health and social care systems for elderly. The research should contribute with knowledge that can be used to prepare and equip the health and social care systems of the Nordic and Baltic countries to meet the challenges of a growing elderly population. The research consortium must include research performing organisations in at least three Nordic countries. Project duration may be up to four years.

Ansökan om forskningsbidrag från Märta Lundqvists Stiftelse år 2024/2025
Stiftelsens syfte och mål
Stiftelsens övergripande syfte är att främja forskningen om den mänskliga hjärnan vid svenska universitet. Särskilt kommer patientrelaterad och kliniskt fokuserad forskning att prioriteras. Stiftelsen har även som målsättning att stimulera yngre forskare.
Forskningsprogrammet ska innehålla tydliga mål så att resultatet av erhållna medel kan utvärderas. Storleken på utdelningsbara medel i år uppgår till 4 300 000 kronor.
Vem kan söka anslag?
Utlysningen riktar sig till forskare vid svenska universitet med avlagd doktorsexamen (bevis i bilaga) inom tidsramen 5 år, dvs efter 1 januari 2020. Avräkning av tid kan ske för föräldraledighet och tid för eventuell klinisk tjänstgöring inom hälso- och sjukvården.
Stiftelsen har som policy att inte stödja ett och samma projekt i mer än 5 år. Dock kan undantag ske i särskilda fall.
Tidplan
Utlysningen av programmet pågår från november 2024 med sista datum för inskickande av ansökan 15 januari, kl. 24.00, 2025. Beredningsarbetet pågår under våren 2025 och beslut förväntas under maj månad.
Övrigt
Utbetalning för de bidrag som kan komma att beviljas sker till respektive lärosäte. Såväl vetenskaplig som ekonomisk redovisning för hur medlen använts ska inlämnas till Stiftelsen senast 2 år efter utbetalningsdatum.

ERC Consolidator Grant (ERC-2025-CoG) – European Research Council
ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. Applicants should have successfully defended their PhD > 7 and ≤ 12 years prior to 1 January 2025, with exceptions for certain circumstances including parental leave, national service, clinical training and long-term illness. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their scientific proposal.

Improving research methods, capabilities and processes grant – European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR)
This grant is intended to support the development of new tools, approaches and protocols that increase quality, innovation and technology development in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMD) research. Research areas for which methods will be developed, may include all RMD research areas but should be focused on clinical, community, health outcomes, and/or health services research as well as implementation science.
Ther applicant must be an investigator from a EULAR-affiliated country, and must have an appointment at a domestic research institution/ hospital. Investigators may only submit one application per call cycle in which they are listed as principal investigators (PI) or Co-PI. However, a PI can be on more than one grant if he/she is listed as a Co-I. Please note that this grant is strictly intended for supporting methods development. The budget is EUR 50,000 per project.

Training course and workshop awards - European Society for Paediatric Infectious Disease (ESPID)
The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases invites applications for its training course and workshop awards. These support the organisation of training courses and workshops in paediatric infectious diseases. Events may be directed at clinical trainees, continuing medical education for career grade doctors, or both.
Courses or workshops must be held in a European location. Applicants must be members of ESPID and courses must offer reduced registration fees for ESPID members.
Awards are worth up to €12,000 each and covers essential costs of the meeting such as administration costs, hire of premises and equipment, travel subsistence and accommodation costs for teachers and delegates. Funding covers 50 per cent of eligible costs.

With the aim of promoting and allowing young and talented researchers to do great science, IBSA Foundation for scientific research offers 6 fellowships of € 32,000 in the following research fields: dermatology, endocrinology, fertility/urology, orthopaedics/rheumatology/pain medicine and Healthy Aging/Regenerative medicine.
Applicants of any nationality must be under 40 years old on the deadline for the submission of proposals. They must have a degree in medicine, biology, pharmacy, biotechnology or bioengineering. Open to PhD students, PhD, Post-Doc and residents. Permanent positions such as Professors cannot apply.

Abstract: The purpose of this Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) is to invite applications for basic and translational research establishing and utilizing animals to model the development of post-TB lung disease (PTLD). This NOSI will support the establishment and utilization of pre-clinical animal models that strive to (1) better understand the pathophysiology of long-term lung damage resulting from pulmonary TB or (2) better understand the role of the immune response during TB treatment in long-term lung damage. Validating results with animal models using clinical samples is allowable, but clinical trials and clinical research will not be supported under this NOSI.

Amount: Annual funding can range from $300,000-500,000 per award per year with appropriate justification for up to a two-year period. Funding can be used for principal investigator, co-investigator, staff scientists, postdoctoral researchers and, where applicable, graduate students’ salaries. Institutional indirect support will be capped at 15% of direct costs.

Abstract: The program seeks to fund collaborative research teams to create innovative ways to study new pathogenic disease mechanisms and treatment modalities in Huntington’s disease. Funded projects will “significantly move the needle” and provide transformational new insights to the HD field. General areas include but are not limited to: whether modulation of somatic repeat instability is disease modifying, whether and how cellular, biochemical or molecular insights in HD systems are predictive of disease, or how to apply unexplored therapeutics for clinical application (inclusive of biomarkers). Projects that discover disease modifying targets and incorporate novel tools or technologies are encouraged. Projects must justify how results could ultimately connect to therapies.

International Myeloma Society, US - International Myeloma Society (IMS) and Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation Translational Research Award

Amount: Up to $250,000, including maximal allowable institutional overhead of 8%.
Eligibility: Applicant must be a faculty member or a scientist with an MD, and/or PhD, who is established as a researcher. Applicants with research experience outside of the field of plasma cell malignancies, who wishes now to apply their knowledge to developing translational research efforts focused on myeloma are encouraged. The PI or Co-I should be an IMS member.
Abstract: Translational research projects in all areas of plasma-cell dyscrasias are eligible for this proposal. Translational research projects may involve the use of any cellular, molecular, structural, biochemical, and/or genetic experimental approaches. By this definition, projects are permitted to move not only in the forward direction, toward clinical trials and studies in areas of prevention, early detection, treatment, and development of biomarkers, but also in the reverse direction, using human biospecimens, often from clinical trials, to study new phenomena, or to identify new targets and develop treatments based on results from human studies. Projects must be focused on translational research that meets the definition provided above and results in clinical translation. Projects must be dedicated to capitalizing on research opportunities that have the potential to change the current paradigm in the management of myeloma.

At the start of the grant term on July 1, applicants must: Hold a mentored research position with the title of postdoctoral fellow, clinical research fellow, or the equivalent; Have completed their most recent doctoral degree within the past three years; Work under the auspices of a mentor at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world. There are no citizenship or geographic requirements. Applicants must be AACR members in good standing (dues paid for the current year).
Abstract: The AACR-John and Elizabeth Leonard Family Foundation Basic Cancer Research Fellowship encourages and supports postdoctoral and clinical research fellows to establish a successful career path in cancer research. The proposed project may be in any area of basic cancer research.

Abstract: The purpose of the Common Mechanisms in Autoimmunity Insight Awards is to establish proof-of-concept research toward the collaborative advancement of innovative ideas and therapeutic approaches that address needs and knowledge gaps across multiple autoimmune diseases. All project proposals should be relevant to multiple autoimmune diseases, two of which should be relevant to multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus (or one of its manifestations), and/or type 1 diabetes. These projects should be designed to establish a proof of concept to a future expanded collaborative study and therefore should constitute “step-one” of an ambitious endeavor.
