Forskningsprojekt - Stiftelsen Professor Lars-Erik Gelins Minnesfond
Stiftelsen inbjuder ansökningar om bidrag för forskning om njurtransplantationer. Dessa stöder vetenskapliga forsknings- och utvecklingsprojekt som rör njurtransplantationer och som främjar den aktiva uremivården, huvudsakligen med inriktning på njurtransplantationer. Forskningsprojekt som förväntas få klinisk betydelse inom en överskådlig framtid prioriteras.

Reseanslag - Parkinsonfonden
Reseanslag stöder resor till konferenser och kongresser samt forskningsvistelser inom området Parkinsons sjukdom. Behörigheten för varje kategori är som följande: (i) konferens- och kongressresor - sökande måste aktivt medverka i form av eget föredrag eller deltagande i postersession, och bidrag ges endast till resor som påbörjas tidigast två månader efter ansökningstidens utgång; (ii) forskningsvistelser - sökande kan vara odisputerad eller disputerad forskare som måste ha fått en personlig inbjudan eller motsvarande från den utländska gästinstitutionen, och vistelser skall pågå minst en månad. Högsta belopp för konferensresor är 10 000 kr inom Europa, 15 000 kr utom Europa (för forskningsvistelser är det maximala beloppet 30 000 kronor).

Forskningsprojekt – Forte
Utlysningen ”Inkomster och försörjningsmöjligheter för en god och jämlik hälsa 2024” syftar till att stärka kunskapen om hur styrning, lagstiftning, samordning och policyutveckling kan formas och genomföras för att skapa förbättrade förutsättningar för folkhälsan och det preventiva och hälsofrämjande arbetet. Forte uppmuntrar både till forskning som leder fram till nya insatser och åtgärder, och/eller till forskning som utvärderar existerande. Forskning som bidrar med kunskap utifrån grupper i särskilt utsatta situationer och med knappa ekonomiska marginaler anses vara särskilt relevanta. Bidraget kan sökas för tre eller fyra år med maximalt fem miljoner kronor för treåriga projekt och maximalt sju miljoner för fyraåriga projekt.

Medtech4Health: Implementation of medical technology in healthcare in 2024 - Vinnova
The aim of the call is to give care and/or care organizations the opportunity to work effectively with the implementation of new innovative medical technology solutions. Subject of application can be: (i) Implementation, testing and evaluation of new medical technology solutions or services; (ii) Analysis of what is needed to adapt services, processes and organization to enable the implementation of new solutions. The solutions must clearly contribute to solving a defined challenge in the applicant´s activities. Coordinator must be a care and/or care organization that receives patients/users and is responsible for the activities where the solutions are to be implemented. Cooperation with other actors is desirable but not necessary. One can apply between SEK 300,000 and SEK 1,500,000. The grant may correspond to a maximum of 50 percent of the project´s total eligible costs.

Ulla och Stig Holmquists vetenskapliga pris i organisk kemi 2024
Ulla och Stig Holmquist stiftelse för organisk kemi är en till Uppsala universitet anknuten stiftelse och av stiftelsens avkastning ska 80 % årligen delas ut av Uppsala universitet. Priset delas ut till aktiv forskare med huvudsakligen nationell verksamhetsbakgrund inom ämnet organisk kemi, vilken gjort banbrytande forskningsinsatser inom detta område. Priset räknas som ett av de större vetenskapliga prisen i Sverige. Uppsala universitets rektor utser pristagare på förslag av en nämnd bestående av respektive dekan för kemiska sektionen, farmaceutiska fakulteten och medicinska fakulteten.

ASL-HSP Call for Projects – "Research on Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia" - Fondation maladies rares
This call for research projects provides financial support of up to 25,000 euros for a maximum duration of 24 month. Funding support can cover:
- personnel expenses – except for permanent and/or administrative staff,
- operations,
- equipment,
- missions (limited to 2 000 €),
provided that they are entirely and exclusively dedicated to the research project.
The use of service providers should only cover the execution of a very limited part of the project (max 10% of total budget).
Please note that indirect costs and institutional overhead are not provided.

EDF-2024-DA-SIMTRAIN-STME-STEP: Simulation and training for medical emergencies
This topic addresses development activities related to the current operational challenges that military medical personnel are facing in the EU Member States and EDF Associated Countries. The EU has already started its efforts to develop military medics’ innovative training solutions. In order to take full advantage of military medics training simulation, additional operational scenarios and functionalities in a virtual reality environment have to be further developed. EN 25 EN This topic contributes to the STEP objectives as defined in STEP Regulation, in the target investment area of deep and digital technologies. Targeted types of activities: Design and system prototyping, not excluding upstream and downstream activities eligible for development actions.

In September 2023, the NIH released the NIH Strategic Plan for HSV Research. The strategic plan focuses on four strategic priorities: HSV virology basic research, better HSV diagnostics, strategies to address HSV treatment and cure, and research to prevent HSV infection. This NOSI focuses on furthering the development of new products for prevention of HSV infection, as well as improving the diagnosis and treatment of patients living with herpes, addressing three of these four strategic priorities.

Abstract: Through this program, AFTD, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF), seeks to advance and support innovative small molecule and biologic (antibodies, oligonucleotides, peptides, gene therapy) drug discovery programs for FTD. Current funding priorities for this program include: Lead optimization of novel disease-modifying compounds (e.g., medicinal chemistry refinement, in vitro ADME); In vivo testing of novel lead compounds, biologics, vaccines or repurposed drug candidates in relevant animal models for pharmacokinetics, dose-range finding, target engagement, in vivo efficacy, and/or preliminary rodent tolerability studies. This program does NOT support: Target identification/validation; Assay development; High-throughput/high-content screening.
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), US – Path to a Cure - Collaborative Research Grant

Amount: $3,000,000. Total direct cost for the Collaborative Research Grant may not exceed $1,000,000 per year for up to three (3) years. The application must consist of at least two (2) projects, each led by an independent investigator. The lead institution may request up to $25,000 direct costs per year to support an administrative core, however total direct costs may not exceed the $1,000,000 cap per year. An additional twelve percent (12%) of indirect costs per year may be requested.
Eligibility: Applicants must be independent investigators (an individual who is out of fellowship training and whose institution allows them to submit applications for research funding as a Principle Investigator). Applicants must speak with program staff prior to submission to ensure the research aims are in alignment with the research priorities described in this request for applications (RFA).
Abstract: Projects supported through the Path to a Cure: Collaborative Research Grant should be ambitious in scope and utilize cutting-edge technologies and strategies that have the potential to inform or translate into novel therapies to restore CFTR protein function by fixing and/or replacing the defective CFTR gene. Collaborations that bring new investigators into the CF research community are a high priority. A single Collaborative Research Grant proposal must have at least two -- and may include up to four — related research projects (each led by a separate principal investigator) that share a well-defined theme and overall objective. Proposals must contain sufficient preliminary data to justify support from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Mendez National Institute of Transplantation Foundation, US – Research Grant Program

Amount: $150,000. Approximately three to six grants are awarded each year, depending on grant amounts and the annual budget. Grant requests are not to exceed $150,000 and may be two-year projects. Indirect costs are capped at 10%.
Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply: The Principal Investigator is actively involved in research; Research falls within the priority areas; Research is aimed to improve clinical outcomes and/or positively impact the field of organ transplantation; Research funding is not readily available from other sources.
Abstract: THE MNITF RGP continues the vision and legacy of our founders, Drs. Robert and Rafael Mendez, by awarding grants semiannually to researchers to improve clinical outcomes and positively impact the field of transplantation. We are uniquely able to advance transplantation-related research through nonprofit/private partnerships during this unprecedented time of scarce federal funding. We provide funding for research directly applicable to clinical practice, and we collaborate with for-profit organizations, forging a new research and development model for commercial organizations overburdened with regulatory restrictions.

Amount: $120,000. The total annual funding for each scholar is $120,000. The award is intended to fund three consecutive years of research and research training based on the proposed application. The initial award is for one year and is renewable annually for two additional consecutive years of research training, based on satisfactory progress of the scholar in meeting programmatic requirements and on the availability of funds. Indirect costs are not provided.
Eligibility: Candidates must have been awarded an M.D. (or D.O) degree and must be eligible for the certification process of ABOG at the time of the award. Candidates for the Foundation for SMFM/AAOGF scholarship must be members or associate members of the SMFM.
Abstract: The AAOGF, the GOG Foundation, the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, the Foundation for SMFM, and ABOG seek to identify future academic physician leaders in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and to stimulate their scholarly development through the support of advanced scientific training. The Scholarship Award is to be used in an academic Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the United States or Canada to provide research training and experience for a candidate of proven ability who exhibits significant talent, original thought, and evidence of dedication to an academic career.
