The Tata Trusts are developing a transformational cancer care programme in India across several states which will impact a population of ~75 million people.

The focus is on the below poverty line in India. As Medical Director of the programme, Professor Purushotham oversees the clinical, training and research work streams. Construction has commenced on 16 cancer hospitals across 7 states with phase 1 of the programme targeted for completion by December 2020.
